Blair Andrews focuses her practice almost exclusively on construction and government contracting law. Ms. Andrews advises public and private owners, national and international contractors, and original equipment manufacturers on project delivery systems, contract negotiation, contract management and administration, project execution, and dispute resolution.
Ms. Andrews regularly handles various forms of alternate dispute resolution, bid protests, and claim litigation in various federal and state courts. Ms. Andrews represented a major international EPC contractor in a complex U.S. federal court litigation concerning disputes arising from the construction of a large coal-fired power plant.
A significant portion of Ms. Andrews’ practice involves claims avoidance and educating clients through in-house seminars and day-to-day review of projects, contracts, issues and project correspondence. Ms. Andrews advised a large industrial developer in the drafting and update of its construction contract forms covering all aspects of project delivery from financing through operation and maintenance.
In addition to advising on front-end claims avoidance, Ms. Andrews has spent an increasing amount of her time assisting clients to achieve early resolution of disputes through effective negotiation and conciliation/mediation in real time, i.e., during the pendency of the project.
Ms. Andrews was named a Georgia “Rising Star” for Construction Litigation, Government Contracts and Alternative Dispute Resolution by SuperLawyers magazine in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
