Amy Hsiao focuses her practice on areas of international trademark portfolio management, enforcement and protection of global brands, with emphasis on the Greater China regions. Born and raised in Taiwan, Ms. Hsiao earned a B.A. degree in English, with high honors, at National Taiwan Normal University (1998) and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia, School of Law (2007). Throughout her academic years, Ms. Hsiao has been an accomplished public speaker as well as debater – both in Mandarin Chinese and English. In addition to being fluent in both languages, Ms. Hsiao reads and writes 'simplified Chinese' and 'traditional Chinese.' Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Ms. Hsiao interned in Hong Kong with one of the largest law firms in the world focusing on securities and IPO matters; she also completed an internship at the Securities and Exchange Commission (Atlanta, GA) focusing on litigation and bankruptcy issues.

Ms. Hsiao’s familiarity with Chinese and American business cultures, coupled with her linguistic fluency, give her a unique advantage in assisting with U.S.- Chinese related transactions, especially in complex IP issues and financial services areas. Ms. Hsiao is also experienced in corporate finance law, representing lenders in various types of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) transactions and assisting clients in general corporate matters.

Ms. Hsiao was recognized by the American Bankruptcy Institute as the recipient of the organization’s 2006 Medal of Excellence and scholarship. Ms. Hsiao also received the Judge’s Award of the 5th Asia Pacific English Presentation Contest.
